Import Magento Products Quickly and Safely

Use a user friendly Magento Product Import Wizard in Store Manager for Magento to ease your product data management!

Magento Product Import Wizard in Store Manager for Magento allows to import your product information quickly and smoothly.

Before you start, make sure your customer information .csv file is ready for import. Now use Magento Product Import Wizard by pressing Import/Export button in the Store tab and choosing Import Products Wizard from drop-down menu or by clicking on Import/Export Wizard button in Products section or by choosing it in context menu.

Now all you have to do is just follow wizard step-by-step and press Next.

1. In the Wizard first window select “Import” action to proceed. Though it is strongly recommended to BackUp your database first!

2. The next step is to specify import source and select the file you’re going to import or download one.

3. Now Preview your .csv file and if everything’s Ok proceed.

4. Make sure you choose the proper Delimiter and Quote Character in the fourth window provided. They have to be the same as in the file you’re going to import. Otherwise, the import process won’t be complete. Most popular delimiters are comma (,), semicolon (;) and tab character ( ), though other symbols can be used as well.
You have also to check whether you want to import Downloadable Products and Images in this window and specify their import files.

5. The next step is to select Store View to import Products to.

6. In Assign .csv Columns to Database Fields click on Auto Set option if .csv column names are the same as database field names or assign field names yourself and press Next.

7. In Base Formats and Separators window just leave all settings as they are by default and click Next.

8. The next step is to preview importing data for the correctness of information.

9. Choose Import Method in Import Options window. Add and Modify option adds new products if they are not available in database yet and modifies products that were found. Add Only option simply adds new products. Modify Only option just updates existing products. And with Just Add option Store Manager for Magento will not search for existing products but will add products as new.
Make sure you tick “Reindex product data”, otherwise you’ll have to reindex all your data by hand after the import process.
