How to Proofread, Perform Grammar, and Spell Check for Adobe (ex Magento2) Product Description with ChatGPT

Before we proceed with the task, let's check the data we have now.

In the screenshot below, you can see our online Magento store products along with current descriptions in Store Manager software. The description is poorly written and requires an update. Such a description might be a poor translation from a different language or a text with typos and grammar errors made by a copywriter.

Let’s check this product on the frontend. Note, we have slightly updated the text for you, so you could see the difference. Some words are misspelled, some grammar and syntax errors are present as well.

Let’s check how ChatGPT will fix all this mess.

Step 1: Create Your Own Prompt

To translate the product description, we should start with our prompt editing. For that, go to the ChatGPT menu and open PromptBook. Here you will see a list of prompts available at the moment that can be applied massively to the Adobe (Magento) catalog, and you can create your own prompt depending on your needs.

We'regoing to use the prompt that allows us to proofread and perform a spell check for product descriptions.

Step 2: Insert the Desired Macros at the Prompt

Our target field is Product Description. That is the field that the result will be saved into.

Also, here you can find a macros list with product fields that can be used for the content generation.

We'll add the Product name and Product description macro fields to our prompt. These are the fields that the description for proofreading will be taken from.

Play around with your prompt to get the perfect content for your business.

Note that the description can contain HTML and our prompt allows you to keep it intact. If you have any other specific requirements, make sure to include them in the prompt as well.

Do not forget to hit "Apply" to save changes.

Step 3: Go to the ChatGPT Mass Changer

Once you are done with your prompt, go back to the products list and select those to which you would like to apply this prompt to. We recommend selecting a few products to check for update the result before applying this prompt to all products.

Use the "ChatGPT" button to open the plugin settings.

Step 4: Choose a Prompt and an Action

Here you can select the Prompt that you would like to apply and the Action to be performed.

In our case we'll proofread and perform a spell check for the product description and replace the existing product description with the corrected one.

Step 5: Go to ChatGPT Tasks Queue

Let’s run the process and go to the Tasks Queue to see the ChatGPT in action.

In this window, you can see the list of products and tasks that are executed.

The status is changed from Pending to Generated once the description is translated.

Also, you can check the Response from ChatGPT before applying it to your products.

Step 6: Apply the Result

If you’re satisfied with the result, hit "Apply" for each product one by one or in bulk.

Step 7: Check the Store for Changes

Here you can see the updated product description. It looks much better now. Pay attention to the HTML tags.

Also let’s check one product on the frontend. Do not forget to refresh the page to see the result.

You can perform this action for all your products in bulk. Also you can generate a new product description, translate it into multiple languages, or enrich your current description using ChatGPT in bulk.
